Defending Pilliga

Start: Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 8:30 AM GMT

This is a virtual event

The Pilliga forest is the last intact temperate forest in Eastern Australia.
Santos has been given approval to build 850 gas wells across sacred Gomeroi land.

At this online event we will:

  • discuss the significance of the government's gas strategy on New South Wales, with a focus on the Narrabri Gas Project
  • preview a documentary about Santos' destructive plans to drill for gas in north-west NSW produced by fellow rebels in collaboration with Traditional Owners and local activists
  • have an information and Q&A session to detail the issue at hand, what's coming next, and what we can do to take action

This event will be an opportunity to get more involved in grassroots action against fossil fuels and the gas-fired recovery, along with providing helpful context for how local communities in NSW are being impacted.

Please register here on Action Network so we can send you the details for attending on the night, and to keep you in the loop with this campaign as it progresses!
