Digital Day of Action against Equinor - January 2023
Start: 2023-01-31 09:00:00 UTC Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London (GMT+00:00)
This is a virtual event
Join us on Tuesday 31st January to take digital action against Norwegian oil giant Equinor and the proposed Rosebank oilfield in the North Sea.
Rosebank is the biggest undeveloped oil and gas field in the British North Sea. Burning its oil and gas would create more than the combined annual CO2 emissions of the 28 lowest-income countries. We need to #StopRosebank - the biggest field deserves the biggest fight. Equinor, Rosebank’s owner, is a Norwegian state-owned oil giant which cares hugely about its reputation, investing heavily in advertising to present themselves to the people of Norway as a responsible energy company committed to net zero. In reality, they are relentlessly focused on developing new oil and gas fields.
That’s why, on Tuesday 31st January, we're hosting a digital day of action to bring people together in solidarity from across Norway and the UK to flood Equinor’s communication channels, telling them loud and clear to #StopRosebank. More than 600 people joined our digital day of action in October - lets make this one even bigger!
We will be hosting two open Zoom sessions where you can join other people taking action, meet some friendly faces and ask any questions you might have before diving in. The timings are:
- Morning session: 9:00am/10:00am - 10:15am/11:15am (UK/Norway time)
- Afternoon session: 1:00pm/2:00pm - 2:15pm/3:15pm (UK/Norway time)
Join the zoom here: Zoom link.
Can't join the above times? No problem! We've created an Action guide with everything you need to take action in your own time throughout the day! Register to receive the guide.
This digital day of action is open to everyone. Newcomers are more than welcome, we would love to see you there! You don’t need any prior experience: we will be there to answer questions and guide you through the actions in a safe, supportive space.
Ready to #StopRosebank and show Equinor that we won’t be fooled by their greenwashing? Join us!
