Next week, Ofgem will start lifting the temporary ban on customers being forced onto prepayment meters by energy companies, at the worst possible time as winter approaches. Energy companies broke their license conditions, breaking into the homes of disabled and elderly people and families with young children last winter. The UK Government could introduce a permanent ban but failed to in the Energy Bill, so we need to demand they act now.

No matter how much money you make or where you are in the UK, we all deserve to live comfortably. We all deserve access to enough heating and electricity to warm or cool our homes. We should all be able to power the appliances we need to live dignified lives, but this Government has sided with energy companies like Scottish Power and British Gas, prioritising their profit margins over our lives and communities.
