In this seminar we will go through the law relating to the division of responsibilities for disabled asylum seekers between local authorities and the Home Office, particularly including recent case law on the duty to provide accommodation to adults with care needs

Helen Baron
Helen Baron is a solicitor at Deighton Pierce Glynn. I am a Public Law Solicitor working on migrant rights claims. I represent asylum seekers in cases involving their accommodation and financial support, whether against the Home Office or local authorities. I represented the Claimants in a recent case of SB and SBO, in which the Court re-affirmed the legal position regarding the division of responsibilities between local authorities and the Home Office as regards adult asylum seekers with care needs.
