Start: Saturday, February 01, 202010:00 AM

End: Saturday, February 01, 2020 3:00 PM

Public Education is at stake. As we address the needs of our future, we are focusing on the necessity of recruiting, developing and supporting a more diverse work force of teachers who reflect the students and communities we serve.

We will discuss the research around barriers teachers of color face to both entering and staying in the profession and would like your input and involvement as we create a plan of action to address the concerns. We know that increasing teacher workforce diversity is key strategy to advance greater cultural understanding and to combat achievement gaps.

What are the supports and structures that guide Teachers of Color along the teacher development continuum? What are the barriers that prevent their success?

What actions and roles must key stakeholders take along the teacher development continuum to fortify and enhance efforts to grow and sustain Teachers of Color in the workforce?

What are our individual responsibilities as educators to ensure we are aware of our implicit biases that may unintentionally disrupt student growth and success?

Join us.
