Domestic Worker Ordinance Celebration & Roma Screening

Start: Sunday, December 01, 2019 3:00 PM

Join Hand in Hand and Casa Latina for a celebration of the Seattle Domestic Workers Ordinance and a Meaningful Movie screening of the film Roma.

Roma is Academy Award winner Alfonso Cuarón's film that follows a year in the life of a domestic worker in Mexico City in 1970. Following the film, we will have a short discussion about the importance of domestic work and how Seattle's new Domestic Workers Ordinance is uplifting workers rights that have been too long left in the shadows.

Seattle is on the forefront of bringing domestic work out of these shadows with passage and implementation of the Seattle Domestic Workers Ordinance, which creates new workplace protections for nannies, house cleaners, gardeners, home attendants, and more.

Space is limited, and while tickets are free, your donation helps Hand in Hand reach more employers and helps the UHeights Center build community and create radical, affordable programming.
