On April 4th, join activists, healthcare providers, and community members for a conversation on the New York Health Act. This transformational bill would take the private insurance companies out of the healthcare system in New York by:
- Creating the New York Health Plan, which will cover every New York resident regardless of employment or immigration status
- Covering all medically necessary services
- Prohibiting a tiered healthcare system, where the wealthy get access to superior services
- Removing network restrictions so that a patient can visit any provider
- Keeping medical decisions between a patient and a doctor, so the insurer no longer gets a say in care
For over 30 years, Albany legislators have failed to pass this bill. After two years of struggling against COVID-19, we need big changes in the healthcare system now more than ever. Sips for Single Payer will share the basics of the bill and the action steps you can take to help pass it!
