Earth Day Climate Strike
Start: Friday, April 22, 2022• 3:00 PM
Join Fridays For Future DC for an Earth Day Climate Strike on April 22nd, at 3:00 PM at the White House.
A year ago, President Biden promised to cut US emissions by 50% by the year 2030. However, his actions tell a different story, and his empty words mean nothing for the lives we have already lost to the climate crisis. And if President Biden and his party won’t fight for us, why should we fight to re-elect them? President Biden must acknowledge the full scale of this crisis by declaring a climate emergency, and address the crisis with the urgency that the most recent IPCC report mandates. President Biden must prove his commitment to preventing further climate catastrophe, by ending all fossil fuel projects, ensuring a just and immediate transition to renewable energies, and ending fossil fuel subsidies. The climate crisis is here, and it’s already devastating communities around the world, especially Black, brown, and Indigenous communities. It's time for the US government to prioritize #PeopleNotProfit and start investing in the next generation instead of dying fossil fuel corporations. We must act today to secure a more just and livable future for all.
