What is Election Protection: Election Ambassadors are needed for the lead up to the General Election, November 8, to help spread the word about the Election Protection Hotline 866-OUR-VOTE to their friends, neighbors and community members.
This effort is led by the Ohio Voter Rights Coalition, a network of nonpartisan voter advocates including ACLU of Ohio, All Voting is Local, Common Cause Ohio, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights under Law, League of Women Voters of Ohio, and more.
What are Election Ambassadors: Ambassadors distribute posters, palm cards, or yard signs featuring the Election Protection Hotline 866-OUR-VOTE and other voting rights literature to places such as barbershops, bookstores, churches, coffee shops and food pantries. Resources will be available in multiple languages.
Sample Activities:
- Distribute Election Protection yard signs
- Distribute voter education materials
- Contact organizations to assess their willingness to display voter education materials
- Mail Election Protection supplies
- Talk to voters (formally or informally) about voting FAQs.
Training opportunities for Election Protection Ambassadors will be ongoing. Once you RSVP, you will be contacted with more information about how to get started.
