Florida's primary for the midterms is on August 23rd and folks are getting ready to turnout Black voters across the state by making voting as easy and accessible as possible. We are excited to be joined by two special guest speakers:

Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones who is the founder of Operation BlackOut - a campaign focused on increasing voter turnout among Black and brown voters through vote-by-mail.He also founded South Florida Youth Summit, the largest gathering of young people in South Florida, and LEAD Nation, one of South Florida’s top organizations for youth leadership training.

Eric Tangarife the Lead Organizer from RideShare2Vote who will discuss their campaign to offer voters free rides to the polls. As lead orgaizer for RideShare2Vote, Eric hopes to substantially increase voter turnout by connecting with local communities in order to make voting more accessible to all Americans.

Come learn about how Operation BlackOut is working to ensure voting by mail remains accessible to Black voters despite new legislative challenges and how RideShare2Vote is mobilizing communities to make sure anyone who wants to vote in person is able to do so.

This is part of an ongoing series, "Road to the Midterms: Looking Forward and Federal," where we will be joined by members of Congress, voting rights activist and state leaders for in-depth discussions on important pro-democracy legislation and efforts that you can help support as we gear up for the 2022 midterm elections.
