Every Life, A Universe
Start: Sunday, October 06, 2024• 6:00 PM
As the Talmud teaches, in each death, an entire universe is destroyed.
In early October, we will come together in heartbreak and grief for a vigil to mark one year since Hamas-led militants massacred Israelis and other nationals and took hostages, and the Israeli state unleashed its genocidal assault on Gaza – bombing, maiming, starving and forcibly displacing millions of Palestinians.
We stand in solidarity with families and communities shattered by loss or separation from those held in captivity. The sheer scale of the killing has reduced the victims of the past year to numbers, robbing them of their dignity and individuality. We will speak their names and tell their stories.
This will be a moment for remembrance, reckoning, and solidarity as we unite in our collective struggle to resist the ongoing nakba, stretching back over seventy years, and fight for a just, anticolonial future of equality and freedom for all between the river and the sea.
Please RSVP for location details. Details of vigils outside of London to be announced shortly.
