Our faith traditions consistently emphasize redemption. We believe in second chances, and that lives can change. We do not throw anyone away--everyone has inherent value and dignity. Our current criminal justice system is rooted in punishment, judgement, and vilification, with devastating effects for far too many families in Ohio, and particularly for people of color. It is time we create a criminal justice system that embodies the best of our faith: redemption, transformation, humanity, dignity.

This year we have an opportunity to put our faith into action by putting a transformational criminal justice reform amendment on the November 2018 ballot.
