The Fair Budget Coalition is hosting our inaugural People's Budget Forum this fall! Join us in community on Saturday, September 14th, from 1-4 pm to enjoy refreshments, share knowledge, and begin to co-create the fiscal year 2026 budget that DC deserves.
¡La Coalición por un Presupuesto Justo los invita a nuestro Foro de Presupuesto Comunitario inaugural de FBC este otoño! Únase a nosotros en comunidad el sábado 14 de septiembre, de 1 a 4 p. m. para disfrutar de refrescos, compartir conocimientos y comenzar a co-crear el presupuesto del año fiscal 2026 que DC merece.

Why we're hosting a budget forum: Every spring the Mayor holds entirely performative budget forums only weeks before releasing her already near-finalized budget. She invites the community to speak but does not really hear them. Folks who share their experiences see no reflection of their testimony in the budget Mayor Bowser releases. Often, we see that she slashed the programs our communities need to survive. Mayor Bowser won’t listen to community, but Fair Budget Coalition will. Throughout the fall, FBC will be putting together our budget priorities for fiscal year 2026, we want our priorities to represent the needs of the most impacted DC communities, and this forum will kickstart that process.
Por qué organizamos un foro de presupuesto: cada primavera, la Alcaldesa organiza foros de presupuesto performativos solo semanas antes de publicar su presupuesto casi finalizado. Invita a la comunidad a hablar, pero en realidad no nos escucha . Las personas que comparten sus experiencias no ven ningún reflejo de su testimonio en los comunicados presupuestarios de la alcaldesa Bowser. Seguidamente, vemos que recorta los programas que nuestras comunidades necesitan para sobrevivir. La alcaldesa Bowser no escuchará a la comunidad, pero la Coalición por un Presupuesto Justo sí. Durante el otoño, FBC reunirá nuestras prioridades presupuestarias para el año fiscal 2026, queremos que nuestras prioridades representen las necesidades de las comunidades de DC más afectadas, y este foro iniciará ese proceso.
