First State Together Movie Night! - Action #5

Start: Monday, April 10, 2017 6:00 PM

End: Monday, April 10, 2017 9:00 PM

The Women's March Group has announced their Action #5 - Reflect and Resist. Action five is designed to educate some, and refresh others, through study, reflection, and courageous conversations, so that we can all be empowered by, and learn from, the work of activists who came before us, while being mindful not to perpetuate the mistakes of the past.

Please join First State Together (FiST) for a screening and discussion of the movie "She's Beautiful When She's Angry". The movie screening will start promptly at 6:15 PM (it runs 1h 32m).

We are asking for a small donation ($1 - $5) solely to cover the cost of the room rental.

SHE’S BEAUTIFUL WHEN SHE’S ANGRY resurrects the buried history of the outrageous, often brilliant women who founded the modern women’s movement from 1966 to 1971.   SHE’S BEAUTIFUL takes us from the founding of NOW, with ladies in hats and gloves, to the emergence of more radical factions of women’s liberation; from intellectuals like Kate Millett to the street theatrics of W.I.T.C.H. (Women’s International Conspiracy from Hell!). Artfully combining dramatizations, performance and archival imagery, the film recounts the stories of women who fought for their own equality, and in the process created a world-wide revolution.
