Fixing our broken Mental Health System

Start: 2024-05-08 20:00:00 UTC British Summer Time (GMT+01:00)

This is a virtual event

Almost half of young people have a probable mental illness, yet, with our current mental health system, there is nowhere to get support. Waiting lists for help are at an all-time high, and distressingly, even when seen, there is often little help. Our current mental health system is broken, failing young people again and again.

We’re launching our Youth Mental Health Campaign with a series of monthly webinars. We’ll look at the causes of the crisis, the lack of treatment available for young people and what a radically different way of caring for those in mental distress would look like.

In our first session, we will hear first-hand accounts of young people who have experienced this failing system. We’ll learn about the state of mental health care in the UK, and how it can exacerbate illness and cause trauma. And we will discuss the role of private companies profiting off this crumbling system.

Register your place today for our first online call at 8pm on Wednesday 8th May.
