NY Fossil Fuel Divestment Act Hearing — April 30

Start: Tuesday, April 30, 201910:00 AM

End: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 2:00 PM

For years, State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli has refused to divest the state pension fund from fossil fuel companies. The fund currently has over $13 billion invested in fossil fuel companies. Now, State Senator Liz Krueger and Assembly Member Felix Ortiz have called a joint legislative hearing on new legislation that could force DiNapoli's hand: the Fossil Fuel Divestment Act.

We need to pack this legislative hearing to show state legislators that New Yorkers want divestment now. Our pension fund should be invested in renewables, not dirty fossil fuel companies driving climate catastrophes like Superstorm Sandy.

When: April 30, 10 am – 2pm

Where: Legislative Office Building, Hearing Room A.  Albany, NY
We'll have personal #DivestNY signs to hold in the hearing space. Please show up at 10:00 am sharp, wearing blue in solidarity, to fill the room at the start of the hearing.
