Building on DSA-LA's first socialist feminist teach-in on strategies and organizing models to win free abortion on demand, without apology - this second teach-in focuses on lessons we can learn from Latin American struggles for legal abortion.

With an emphasis on recent victories in Mexico and Argentina, this event will interrogate the decades-long antecedents of these victories from across the region. Interactive discussions will highlight the groups and coalitions that built, maintained and grew massive grassroots movements and the specific strategies they employed in local and national fights to overcome entrenched resistance by the Catholic Church, the conservative parties—and in some cases—the ambivalence or opposition of leftist politicians themselves.
