Grabbing the Torch - Annual GBLC Futures Committee Young Worker Conference

Start: Saturday, December 02, 201710:00 AM

The Greater Boston Labor Council’s ‘Futures Committee’ has scheduled its 7th Annual Young Worker Conference. It will be held at the 1199SEIU union hall, 108 Myrtle St, Quincy from 10 AM to 4pm on Saturday, December 2nd.

Past conferences have provided a unique space for young union members to strategize, gain skills, and build relationships that have not only strengthened the work of our Futures Committee but benefited the greater Boston labor community.

This year’s theme is Grabbing the Torch, where attendees will learn about the political challenges organized labor are facing both nationally and locally, and the opportunities in this political moment to develop their own leadership and take action in building stronger unions and protect the rights of working families.

The conference is open to young union members who are 35 years old and younger and there is no charge to attend the conference. We will however gladly accept contributions to defray the costs of the conference. If your local wishes to contribute checks should be made payable to the Greater Boston Labor Council and mailed to 6 Beacon Street, Suite 910, Boston MA 02108.

Should you be sending members to the conference, please return the enclosed form by Friday November 24, 2017. Any questions regarding the conference should be directed to Vanessa Snow at 617-723-2370 or via e-mail at vsnow@gblc.us
