Join us at the next GRPS Board meeting on Sept. 18th 6:30-7:30 at Westwood Middle School.

The board will be discussing the need for a plan to address issues identified in the Eureka Report inside the the policy committee on Tuesday.

Monday's board meeting is a great opportunity to share that we want to see an accountability plan NOW including a 30/60/90 day evaluation and immediate investments in our priority areas.

This report was delivered to the board in July with a verbal warning: Your house is on fire!

The Eureka Report echoes many of the issues we have advocated about for years. Fixing unreliable bus service, the need for fully staffed school buildings (especially in neighborhood schools), a meaningful school safety plan, food quality improvement with broad student engagement, and improved indoor air quality.

Most alarmingly, the report highlights how staff, parents, and teachers are left out of decision making and chronic issues of poor communication when problems are brought to the district leadership.

These issues were consistently brought up in UCC's listening sessions and are reflected in our spring budget priorities here.

We encourage people from across the district to attend and fill out a comment card to share how their experience is reflected in the Eureka Report.

People are all entitled to 3 minutes to share their experience directly withe board.
