Guelph Vision Session for a Youth Climate Corps
Start: Tuesday, September 17, 2024• 3:30 PM
What a summer of ups and downs it's been so far. From rising heat waves to extreme flooding, we've been called to fight with more determination for a safe and livable future. At the same time, we've seen the clear gaps in our public infrastructure, gaps that we can fill with a Youth Climate Corps (YCC).
We're fighting to build a new green jobs program that will put thousands of young people to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, mitigating the impacts of climate change, and supporting their communities through the next years.
Join us on September 17th as we build community visions for a YCC by painting huge, evocative, ground murals across the country!
We will install an art mural at Guelph's historic landmark: 135 steps along the bridge that runs above the train tracks. No artistic experience is necessary, and artists will be on site to support your participation in painting, wheatpasting and installing fabric art along the bridge! Drop-ins are welcome and encourage, and we are family friendly! We'll have snacks and drinks to keep us fuelled.
