The Harris County Tax Assessors office indicates that most of the 2500+ newly deputized voter registrars (DVRs) in 2017 have not yet registered a single voter. We suspect this may be due to a lack of social and structural support. We will provide the opportunity for all Harris County DVRs to share best practices, to discuss strategic issues-based organizing for continued engagement after voter registration, and importantly, to commit to a partnered / group calendar of voter registration / engagement in specific communities from Jan - Nov 2018 to hold each other accountable. The deadline for registration for 2018 primaries is February 5, 2018. Come join us!
