Heading to Extinction and What to Do About It

The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced.

Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Our children and our nation face grave risk.

In this public talk for Vancouver, local members of Extinction Rebellion share the latest climate science on where our planet and our society is heading, discuss the some of the current psychology around climate change and offer solutions through the study of previous social movements.

All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Due to the content of the talk, parental discretion is advised if bringing along thoughtful children.

This event aims to:

  • Raise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis, within a Canadian context
  • Arm local people with facts they can share with neighbours, friends and family
  • Consider what we can do about this in Vancouver

There will be time to ask questions and discuss afterwards.
