Holding space for grief and unity across communities:
Uniting in humanitarian concern in a time of crisis

We wanted to come together, in the context of the atrocities and unfolding crisis in the Middle East, to share our grief and our humanitarian concern.

We want an immediate ceasefire and the building of a just and humanitarian peaceful solution.

We are also coming together with concern for rising tensions and growing anger, frustration and discrimination within the UK. We want fairness and equality to be upheld for everybody.

This event will provide a space to hold our deep humanitarian grief together.

It will also be a place to consider what we can do to limit damaging repercussions and rising discrimination within our communities in the UK, which ultimately work against our shared goal of protecting the rights and wellbeing of all people.

We will be joined by:

  • Revd David Hardman - Methodist Liaison Officer, based in East Jerusalem
  • A speaker from Palestine - born in a refugee camp in Jordan, at age 15 her mother was able to add her to her Palestinian papers
  • Rabbi Herschel Gluck OBE
  • Sarah Joseph - a writer and broadcaster, who focuses on faith and social justice

To share their experiences and insights.

We ask that all attendees follow these guidelines / ground rules in collective care of each other.

We hope you will join us in our collective grief, and deep humanitarian concern for the crisis in the Middle East and the repercussions unfolding both around the world and here in the UK.
