Housing and Active Transportation Bike Ride with Emeryville Mayor John Bauters
Start: Saturday, October 08, 2022•10:00 AM
End: Saturday, October 08, 2022•12:15 PM
Join Urban Environmentalists and Emeryville Mayor John Bauters on a bike ride through Emeryville!
The city of Emeryville is a true role model when it comes to welcoming and promoting new housing developments for all incomes. The city's housing policy combined with its growing active transportation network creates climate-friendly neighborhoods that allow more people to live close to amenities, jobs, and good public transit.
On this bike ride led by Emeryville Mayor John Bauters, we will take a closer look at recent housing developments, learn how they tie in with the latest improvements in bike and pedestrian infrastructure, and find out what the city is planning next to welcome more neighbors.
The ride will take approximately one hour and lead us to about 10 different destinations. You can bring your own (e-)bike or use Emeryville's bike share (please register and download the app before you arrive to avoid delays). There is a bike share station at the starting point.
After the bike ride, you are welcome to join Urban Environmentalists for lunch/coffee at the Public Market at 11:45 am. If you cannot join us for the ride but would like to meet us at Public Market thereafter, you can sign up for just the Public Market meetup here. We will be sending you information about our exact whereabouts on the day of the event.
