Settler colonialism is one of the root causes of the climate crisis we face, and it is imperative to follow the leadership of Indigenous people as we organize for climate justice. Join us to explore how climate organizers across Turtle Island can centre decolonization in their work.

This webinar will be led by Sophia Sidarous, a land defender and water protector and known for her Indigenous rights and environmental advocacy. Her dedication has brought her travelling throughout Canada and even on the international stage at the UN headquarters for the International Day of the Girl. She is a grassroots organizer, notably during the Wet'suewet'en crisis. Sophia is going into her first year of law school at the Schulich school of law after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Ottawa. She is also one of the 15 plaintiffs suing the Canadian government for inaction on the climate crisis.

Note: This webinar is intended for Future Ground Network members. Make sure that 1-3 members of the local group you organize with have signed our local group agreement.
