Volunteers at MAssachusetts Grassroots Information Collaborative (News-MAGIC) want to help you get in gear for 2022. Learn how to run a better meeting that will help grow your organization and see measurable results while building volunteer morale.
Group meetings can be grueling and even deter the progress of your organization. There are some tried and true practices that can ensure meetings are productive, efficient, and fulfilling.

Organizing begins with internal communication in how, what, when, where, and why we communicate with each other. A group meeting as a form of internal communication is a central event in any organization. This is where agendas are considered, issues are prioritized, subjects are discussed, brainstorming or planning occurs, and decision making tries to propel the mission and the organization forward.

We will cover the four principles of a good meeting:
  • Functionality & Effectiveness
  • Transparency
  • Discipline
  • Accountability

Participants are encouraged to join the session early at 4:45 pm for an initial chat before the training begins.
