BIBA Insurance conference protest

Wednesday 15th May,

Manchester Central Convention Centre

8am - 8pm

Join for some or all of the day

We will be holding a day of action outside the annual British Insurance Broker’s Association conference, calling on the delegates NOT to insure fossil fuel projects, specifically the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and the West Cumbrian Coal Mine.

Without insurance, these destructive carbon bomb projects cannot go ahead.

A creative programme of protest and performances will run throughout the day, along with testimonies from women in the Global South already experiencing the impacts of the climate crisis, from 8am – 6pm outside Manchester Central.

Join us for some or all of the day to create a big impact and get the attention of the insurers!

The day will be a peaceful demonstration to enable participation of a wide range of people.

There will also be an exhibition of photographs and interviews of people directly impacted by the East Africa Crude Oil Pipeline project, many of whom have already been displaced from their homes, 2-5pm at the Friends Meeting House.

A quiet space will be available at the Friends Meeting House too. Accessibility statement for Friends meeting House.

The action is being led by Greater Manchester Stop EACOP coalition, in collaboration with other groups, including the campaign to Stop the West Cumbria Coal Mine and Extinction Rebellion.
