Governor DeSantis promised to work with the legislature "on day one" of his administration to ban fracking statewide in Florida.

On January 10th, 2019, newly inaugurated Governor DeSantis issued an executive order calling on the Department of Environmental Protection to "adamantly oppose hydraulic fracturing". However, one year later, fracking is still 100% legal in Florida.
