June 8, 2019: March with Joe Kennedy and Swing Left at the Boston Pride Festival

Start: Saturday, June 08, 201910:45 AM

End: Saturday, June 08, 2019 3:15 PM

Join the Swing Left Greater Boston voter registration team at the Boston Pride Parade on June 8th. We're marching with Joe Kennedy's team to show our support for our LGBTQ friends and family in MA and around the country!

We'll also also connect with marchers to let them know about opportunities to register voters in Maine, including at the Portland Pride parade on June 15th. What's our goal? To register new Democratic voters in Maine and swing ALL of New England's congressional delegation to Blue!

We will be meeting at Lir at 10:45am. When you check in at Lir with Team Kennedy make sure you say that you are here with Swing Left so that they direct you to where our group will be meeting at Lir. Mark Hooker and Lisa Kolarik will be leading the efforts on the ground. They will run a short training and hand out materials to our group. Here is a rough sketch of the timing:

10:45am Check in with Team Kennedy at Lir, 903 Boylston Street (mention Swing Left affiliation so directed to our group on site)
10:50 - 11:00 Training & logistics run through. Materials handed out- Lisa Kolarik and Mark Hooker
11:00-12:00 Socializing at Lir with other marchers - very important to not actively solicit folks to sign up for Swing Left while at Lir.
12:00 - 12:15 Kennedy group (in several waves) makes its way from Lir to Kennedy Parade step-off location
12:15 - 1:15 Anticipated wait time prior to parade start when volunteers can actively recruit fellow marchers to sign up for Swing Left weekly newsletter and explain the many things that Swing Left does. We will be following up with an email detailing our specific events in Maine (Pride and others) and ways to sign up.
1:15 Mark Hooker and Lisa Kolarik will be collecting the materials (string bags, mini clipboards, completed sign up sheets) in front of our staging location.
2:30 Backup plan - Lisa Kolarik will be in front of the T at Government Center (Parade ends at Government Center) collecting the materials.
