Jump on the National Emergency Truth and Poverty Tour

Start: Saturday, April 27, 2019 9:00 AM

End: Saturday, April 27, 2019 2:00 PM

The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival was launched by thousands of people in the capitals of over 40 U.S. states in spring 2018. Over the past year, we have worked to bring the voices of the poor and dispossessed to the forefront with the revival of Martin Luther King, Jr’s Poor People’s Campaign from 1968.

As part of a National Emergency Truth and Poverty Tour, occurring in at least 30 states, we invite you to join a bus tour planned as a non-partisan event for Saturday, April 27, from 9am to 2pm. This tour will shine a light on the plight, fight, and insight of the poor in Cincinnati and real national emergencies that require immediate attention.

The tour will provide you the opportunity to hear first-hand accounts from residents of three impoverished Cincinnati neighborhoods.  Winton Hills and Fairmount will focus upon environmental and economic struggles. Price Hill will include aspects of criminal injustice. The day will conclude with an opportunity for participants to share their own National Emergency Stories and to hear a list of demands and ways to transform our political and economic systems; we must ensure that local, state, and federal policies address the needs of and solutions from those most affected.

You can register for each individual tour stop by clicking here:
