June Housing Justice Project Meeting

Start: 2022-06-20 19:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)

This is a virtual event

Join the Housing Justice Project for our monthly meeting!

We're going to pick up on our conversation from last month and talk about where else tenant unions can take us, aside from directly confronting landlords. Tenant unions can facilitate mutual aid between neighbors and be part of abolitionist projects to create alternative institutions for conflict resolution that don't rely on prisons or police. Tenant unions can also move us towards social housing by eroding landlords' power, facilitating tenants' control over their homes and community, and building a tenants' movement powerful enough to challenge our racist commodified housing system.

Join us to learn and discuss your wildest dreams about what tenants unions can do and where we can go as a movement. As always, we'll give updates on our canvassing, organizing, research, and legislative projects and share how you can get more involved. Our meeting will wrap up around 8pm, but stick around for coffee hour to continue the conversation.
