Social justice orgs, particularly in communities of color, are sometimes hesitant to engage with climate orgs due to a historically white-led and elitist reputation. We want to make sure that the movement we’re building is giving student organizers the skills we need to bridge these connections and build solidarity in a way that isn’t performative or transactional.
This is a long and ongoing learning process and this training is just a start. This training is open to absolutely everyone who wants to attend and will cover the history of how we got here, how to approach social justice orgs in your community and how to center environmental justice and meaningfully engage with social justice groups & frontline communities.
