Join the Town Hall to learn about Local Law 97, New York City's Green New Deal for Buildings, what this historic legislation means for you and how you can protect it from the dangerous Landlord lobby.
Over the next decade New York City buildings are slated to get more and more energy efficient so that we can lower our energy bills, cut pollution and add more local green jobs to the city's workforce.
There has been quite a bit happening around how to enforce Local Law 97, including recently proposed rule changes from the Mayor's Department of Buildings and the introduction of a dangerous bill, Intro 772, which would gut our landmark jobs and climate justice law in NYC. It is imperative for the public to stay engaged so that we can hold elected official accountable to improving our buildings while saving us money. Especially now with Donald Trump coming into office next year, it is important New York City leaders hold their ground to protect everyday New Yorkers and don't weaken this law by giving handouts to the Real Estate Industry and Big Polluters.
The town hall will address the recent happenings on Local Law 97 and what you can do to make sure we pollute less and save more money. Join us to learn about this historic legislation and take steps to ensure our elected officials uphold this important law that will move our buildings off fossil fuels.
