JOIN US FOR AN ONLINE HUSTINGS EVENT TO MEET LOCAL CANDIDATES, AHEAD OF THE KIRKLEES LOCAL ELECTIONS

On 6 May 2021, Kirklees will elect its local councillors. The council elections provide a great opportunity to secure commitments for ambitious climate action from current and potential councillors.

Our50 point Climate Action Plan sets out what the elected councillors will need to do to tackle climate change and improve our natural environment.

At this event, you’ll get a chance to hear from your candidates on how they’re going to address these key priorities if elected in May. We will be joined by representatives from the main political parties:

  • David Hall, Conservative (Leader of Kirklees Conservative Councillors)
  • Andrew Cooper, Green (Joint Leader of the Kirklees Green/Valley Independent Group and Candidate for Newsome)
  • Dathan Tedesco, Labour (Candidate for Golcar)
  • Andrew Marchington, LibDem (Deputy Group Leader, Kirklees Liberal Democrat)

They will also face questions on key elements such as local road schemes,  transport, housing, green jobs and skills, and Leeds Bradford Airport expansion plans.
