Orange skies, flooded streets and unbreathable air is our new reality in New York. Housing and homelessness is a crisis in New York that is getting much worse as housing costs skyrocket. With asylum seekers who need help arriving and the climate crisis hitting, we must act at the scale needed, not tinker at the edges. Tackling these linked challenges will take ambitious and bold action but our communities are capable of building the livable future we deserve. When the ultrarich pay what they owe, we can tackle New York's top source of pollution (buildings), build beautiful, affordable, sustainable housing for all New Yorkers, and create thousands of good union jobs in the process.
