Across Canada, right wing politicians are taking power. They are using racism and anti-immigrant rhetoric to distract us from the real causes of the economic and social inequalities we are suffering. Once in power, these politicians push more cuts to services, more privatization, and more attacks on our wages and working conditions. With the federal elections around the corner, we are seeing this same strategy of divisiveness being used.
We will be a lot more effective in all our fights if we can neutralize one of the right’s most effective weapons – racism. The most effective way to neutralize this weapon is through person to person conversations in our workplaces and communities.
We are inviting community and union members with a commitment to anti-racism to learn how to use our popular education tools so that you can organize discussions in your organizations, communities, or locals.
Training goals
* Equip you to lead conversations with your colleagues and community about immigrant rights by teaching you how to deliver our workshops and use our popular education tools;
* Help you share facts, and expose racist misconceptions about immigrants, migrant workers and refugees;
* Involve you in a national strategy to build a racial and migrant justice movement in 2019, including the national day of action on June 16.
