We’ve made our demands!

Now it’s time for the district to listen.

Can you join us for a rally at the AISD headquarters on Thursday, April 25th?

We had a town hall last week where members shared their powerful stories about what it is like to work in AISD. Members shared the dire need for more office staff and more custodians. They shared the excessive amount of work faced by teachers, librarians, and counselors and the common need for support. They shared the need for more pay for everyone. They shared the problems in our facilities, including mold, pests, and a lack of things like working elevators to comply with the ADA.

We are telling AISD to make it right! We want them to pay us more, so we can live in Austin. We want them to cut out unnecessary work and tasks, so we can concentrate on our main job of teaching and caring for the students. We want them to provide enough staff so we can do our jobs. We want them to pay us for the extra work we do. We want them to collaborate and listen to our ideas about things that impact our work.

We need your help to win these things. We need you and your co-workers to join us at a rally outside AISD headquarters on Thursday, April 25th. We will begin gathering around 5:00. We will make some signs, gather together, and then we will walk into the school board meeting together. It will be important for the district to see a large number of us to understand how important this is to us. Can you join us?
