Workshop #4 & #5 in our series as part of the Mid-Atlantic Data Justice Collaborative, a partnership between the Central Atlantic Conference of the UCC, Interfaith Power and Light (DC.MD.NoVA) and the Center for Community Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health (CEEJH) from the University of Maryland. You will learn about the role GIS plays in advancing environmental justice!

Through mapping health, environmental, climate, sociodemographic, and economic data, Environmental Justice Screening and Mapping (EJSM) tools reveal the inequitable distribution of environmental and climate burdens across communities.

  • These tools encompass data from broad categories of factors that impact quality of life outcomes.

  • Indicator domains: Climate Change, Health, Environmental Effects, Environmental Exposures and Sociodemographic.

Learn more about the initiative and the schedule of the remaining workshops. All are welcome to participate.

Our shared environment is in crisis, and as people of faith we are called to tend to it, to nurse its wounds, and to care for the people suffering due to climate change and environmental racism.

We look forward to your participation.
