If Governor Murphy and our State legislators are serious about their climate and environmental justice commitments to move our state off fossil fuels, they must:

• Stop the seven fossil fuel projects currently proposed or moving forward in NJ

• Develop a detailed credible plan this year to achieve New Jersey's climate policy to cut greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030

• Reject all false solutions such as Renewable Natural Gas

That's why EmpowerNJ and our partners across the state are organizing our biggest action yet, and we need you with us! On June 23rd we will unite and mobilize our communities to bring our demands to the State House in Trenton where we'll march, rally, lobby and hold our elected officials accountable to their commitments to protect clean air and climate justice for all.

What: March and Rally for Clean Air and Climate Justice

When: Thursday, June 23rd at 10:30am

Where: Patriots Theater at the War Memorial, 200 Barrack St., Trenton

Location and Schedule: Meet on the steps of the Patriots Theatre at the War Memorial at 10:30am. At 11am we'll march with our art, props, signs and banners approximately 1/2 mile to the Statehouse Annex where we'll hold a rally with speakers, chants, art and music. The rally will conclude around 12:30pm and interested participants can join us inside the Statehouse after the rally to lobby our elected officials.

The March For Clean Air And Climate Justice will be a critical point of convergence for front line communities from Gibbstown to Newark and all the front lines in between who are facing toxic power plants, dirty and dangerous pipelines, polluting and unjust highway expansion projects, and a disastrous LNG export terminal proposed in their communities. Together we will unite our struggles and call on Governor Murphy to use his authority to stop all new fossil fuel projects and uphold his Executive Order to cut climate pollution in half by the end of this decade. We will voice the urgent need to replace dirty fossil fuels with truly clean and renewable energy sources and the highest energy efficiency standards. And we will call on our state legislators to reject false climate solutions including current legislation that would subsidize mis-named dirty, dangerous "renewable natural gas" which is nothing more than fossil fuel industry greenwashing to perpetuate polluter profits and GHG emissions.

The urgency of our climate and public health crises becomes clearer every day, so this action is an "all hands on deck" moment! Please do everything you can to join us, bring your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors, and let's unite New Jersey to win the livable, just, and healthy communities and future we so urgently need.

This is a family friendly event and we specifically encourage youth and students to participate so we can amplify their voices.
