Maryland Catholics for Our Common Home: Teach-in and Lobby Event
Start: Monday, February 20, 2023• 3:30 PM
Join us on Monday, February 20, in Annapolis to learn more about:
- key environmental legislation under consideration this year in the State of Maryland,
- how care for creation relates to our Catholic values, and
- a chance to speak to your legislators (or their key staffers) in support of these important bills.
The bills cover areas including:
- Clean transportation
- Access by low-income Maryland residents to improved energy efficiency
- Clean electricity
- Protecting Maryland’s lands and waters
- Climate and environmental equity
The "teach-in" part of the program (which will cover the bills, why they matter, and what to say in a lobby appointment) will start at 3:30 PM in Marian Hall in St. Mary's High School in Annapolis (113 Duke of Gloucester Street).
We will have a light dinner provided by the parish at 5:15 PM.
Then, we will walk over to the Legislative Office buildings for appointments that will start at 6:30 PM. You will be able to leave after your appointments (all of which will be finished by not later than 8:00 PM).
Free parking will be available at St. Mary's.
