Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly & Moral March on Washington & to the Polls

Start: Saturday, June 18, 2022 9:00 AM

Join us at the Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly & Moral March on Washington & to the Polls on June 18th in Washington D.C.

Any nation that ignores nearly half of its citizens is in a moral, economic and political crisis. There were 140 million people who were poor or one emergency away from economic ruin before the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March 2020, while hundreds of thousands of people have died, millions are on the edge of hunger and eviction, and still without health care or living wages, billionaire wealth has grown by trillions.

Let's not forget the 19 states that have enacted laws that restrict and deny the right to vote. All under the false pretense of voter fraud and restoring election integrity. And, the opposition in the U.S. Senate that denied debate and consideration of the Freedom to Vote Act and the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Pieces of legislation that would restore critical provisions of the Voting Rights Act to combat voter suppression and increase access to the ballot box.

As part of our Faith & Democracy 2022 Campaign, we are joining our partners at the Poor People's Campaign to march and summon the political will for change that is most needed now. Will you stand side-by-side with poor people and low-wage workers to demand real change?

As a mobilizing partner we have committed to mobilizing 250 UCC justice leaders and clergy from across the Central Atlantic Conference. And, we are partnering with the Washington DC office of the UCC Justice & Local Church Ministries to call on UCC members from across the country to join us in Washington D.C. for this important day of action.

RSVP now to attend the Mass Poor People’s & Low-Wage Workers’ Assembly & Moral March on Washington & to the Polls on June 18th.

And, let's make sure we have a strong UCC grassroots delegation in Washington D.C.
