On Saturday March 2nd the Poor People’s Campaign will hold simultaneous Mass Poor People’s and Low Wage Workers' Assemblies at statehouses in more than 30 states, including Kansas. We're taking our campaign directly to statehouses, where many of the policies that attack the poor are put into effect.

  • 800 people are dying from poverty every day in the U.S. Poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in the U.S.
  • The 140 million people in this country who are poor and low income are a sleeping giant. Our job is to wake them up!
  • This action is part of an arc of activities leading up to the November 2024 election to mobilize 15 million poor and low-wage voters in more than 30 states. We declare that we refuse to accept poverty as the fourth leading cause of death in America and that our votes are demands for healthcare, voting rights and other policies to save lives and democracy itself.

The Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival challenges the interlocking injustices of systemic racism, the war economy and denial of healthcare, ecological devastation, poverty, and the distorted moral narrative of white supremacy
