Virtual Rally to Stop the Pipeline: May the Fourth Be with Us

Start: 2020-05-04 12:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)

End: 2020-05-04 13:00:00 UTC Eastern Daylight Time (US & Canada) (GMT-04:00)

This is a virtual event

New York State will decide the fate of the dangerous and unnecessary Williams NESE fracked gas pipeline by May 17th, 2020.

Now, as we grapple with the devastating health impacts of COVID-19, we must prevent projects that further threaten the health of New Yorkers. It’s up to us to make sure Governor Cuomo and the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reject the water quality certificate required for the pipeline, and stop it for good!

Join the virtual rally and petition delivery to deliver one loud message to Governor Cuomo and his DEC. We say NO to the pipeline, and demand renewables now!

We may not be able to have a big march or rally in person this year, but with the fossil fuel industry still working to push the pipeline through, it’s more important than ever that we use the force (happy star wars day) of people power to fight back. New Yorkers remain adamantly opposed to the Williams pipeline, a boon for the fracked gas industry that would threaten marine life, fatten the pockets of shareholders raise our rates, and deepen our reliance on climate-destroying fossil fuels.

We’ll make a recording to send to the DEC and Governor Cuomo on the call, so please make a sign to hold!

May the Fourth Be with New York! Collective action will squash the dark side.

Spread the word, we’ll see you (virtually) on May 4th!

P.S. We will send the Zoom link to join the virtual rally after you RSVP
