Christian Filbrun, Legislative Assistant for Assembly Member Tasha Boerner, will join us on Friday, April 4 at 10:00 am PDT, on Zoom.
Assembly Member Tasha Boerner was first elected to the California State Assembly in November of 2018 and re-elected for her fourth term in November 2024. She represents the 77th District, which encompasses the south coast of California from Carlsbad to San Diego.
Before serving in the State Assembly, she was a member of the Encinitas Planning Commission. Subsequently she was elected to the Encinitas City Council in 2016.
One of the Assembly Member's stated goals is to "protect our beaches, coastline, open space, and natural environment". As a member of the Utilities and Energy Committee, as well as the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee, she is positioned to do just that.
In 2024 she introduced AB 45, a bill for development of blue carbon demonstration projects. It failed in the Appropriations Committee but it has been reintroduced this session as AB 399.
Other current legislation includes AB 823: Plastic Microbeads, and AB 1017: Electric and Gas Corporations Distribution Capacity.
We look forward to meeting with Legislative Assistant, Christian Filbrun, to hear about the Assembly Member's goals for this session and to discuss our climate and environmental priorities.
Please use this form to register for the meeting. We’ll convene for a prep meeting at 9:30 to plan and agree on our priorities for our part of the conversation. The legislator meeting will begin 30 minutes later, at 10:00. If you can’t make the 9:30 planning meeting, please join at 10:00 to listen to the conversation.
We look forward to seeing you then!
