MIAMI PLANNING FOR TTIP MEETING

Start: Friday, September 18, 201512:00 PM

Hello all,

I wanted to send out a special meeting notice:

We Can’t Afford Another NAFTA-Style BAD Trade Agreement!

Join Us at a Meeting to Plan Our Response to the Trans-Atlantic Trade Negotiations Taking Place in Miami in October

We Beat Back FTAA in 2003 and We’ll Continue to Fight Any Trade Deal That Puts Corporate Profits Ahead of Good-Paying Jobs, Affordable Medicine and a Healthy Environment!!!

During the week of October 19-23, chief negotiators for the United States and the European Union (representing 28 countries) will hold their 11th round of trade talks in Miami on the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a companion bill to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal that threatens jobs, public health and the environment in our communities and beyond.

We will be shining a spotlight on TTIP and other secretive trade deals throughout the week, including an opening press conference with members of Congress and other events that ensure working Floridians’ voices are heard. As the trade negotiators hold a Stakeholder day, hearing from lobbyists and multi-national corporations, we will also line up speakers to make presentations and pack the meeting rooms.

WHEN: Friday, September 18 – 12 Noon

WHAT: Planning Meeting on the TTIP/TPP Week of Action
