MIAMI STATE WORKERS RISE UP!
Start: Tuesday, January 28, 2020•11:30 AM
RALLY DETAILS:
We are excited to stand with you in solidarity to raise our voices for justice for state workers! Last week, we got some encouraging news from Tallahassee: the Joint Committee on Collective Bargaining unanimously approved a recommendation for across the board pay raises for nearly 50,000 dedicated state employees! This recommendation will go directly to Governor DeSantis and the Florida Legislature.
Now is the time to continue our drumbeat for fairness for the hard working people who make Florida happen every single day!
The Miami State Worker Rally will take place Tuesday, January 28 @11:30AM at the Florida State Office Building: 401 NW 2nd Ave, Miami. You can either drive downtown to park or ride the free shuttle bus directly from the AFSCME Union Hall!
Yes, We Have Transportation Shuttle Buses Available from the AFSCME Union Hall!

Hard working state employees who keep this state functioning are fighting to survive. After 12 years with only two increases (and one pay cut), workers have had enough. Governor DeSantis's proposed 2020 Florida state budget offers no raise or cost of living increase for dedicated state employees, many of whom are working two or more jobs or relying on public assistance just to survive. This is simply not acceptable in a state that now asks workers to do the work of four or five people for less money than ever before.
On January 28, state workers and supporters across Florida are standing up at worksites in multiple cities to remind the legislature who the workers are that make this state happen every day.
Join us on January 28 in Miami to send a clear message to Governor DeSantis and lawmakers in Tallahassee: it's time for state workers to be recognized and prioritized in the 2020 state budget.
State workers need an across the board pay raise NOW! We can not wait any longer!
