Introducing the next Missing Ed series of talks and events from Stroud Young Greens.

Missing Ed is a series of informative talks, films and discussion sessions about problems like climate change, which the organisers say aren’t sufficiently covered in school lessons. The school curriculum very often fails to give our generation a chance to learn about and have a say in the most important factors affecting our lives. Missing Ed will empower young people by giving them the knowledge and space to share views, which is essential to ensure that we all have the right to play a vital role in protecting the planet and the welfare of humanity.

We are excited to host two virtual and one face-to-face event focusing on the following question:

How can we use land sustainably?

This event will be the first of two virtual talks and discussions with soil health expert, Mica Francis, an agriculture consultant with an MSC in Soil and Water Sciences.

"I specialise in analysis of soil and crop production data with the goal of creating a better understanding of the interactions between human-made systems and the natural ecosystems they are embedded in. This helps farmers to maximise their profits by maintaining or improving productivity while reducing input costs. My agricultural-ecosystem-approach uses organic amendments to supplement traditional fertiliser and herb/pesticide use which improves sustainability and resilience of farm enterprises while reducing negative impacts on neighbouring natural ecosystems."
