MK Ofer Cassif in Conversation with Na'amod and JJP

Join Na'amod and Jews for Justice for Palestine (JJP) on Sunday, 24th November, from 5 pm for an evening of conversation with Member of Knesset (MK) Ofer Cassif of the Hadash party in Israel. This is a unique opportunity for an informal engagement with a prominent critic of Israel's occupation.

Cassif has been a steadfast voice challenging Israel's government on the occupation and defending human rights. In 2021, he was filmed being assaulted by police while protesting against the forced evictions of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem. Most recently, Cassif was banned from participating in any Knesset activities for six months due to his outspoken criticism of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, as well as his support for a petition to bring Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Ofer will share his perspectives as a Member of the Knesset, offering insights into his political views and experiences. Following his talk, we will open the floor for a Q&A session.

We would like to thank JJP (Jews for Justice for Palestine) for their support and funding that enabled Ofer to include London in his European itinerary.

Dr. Ofer Cassif short biography

Dr. Ofer Cassif, a Knesset Member (MK) since 2019, represents the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash).
Cassif is a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights, denouncing the occupation and supporting Palestinian sovereignty within Israel's political arena. Since his election as an MK he has faced repressive measures, including attempts at impeachment, multiple parliamentary bans, and his current suspension.

Cassif joined the Hadash Party as a young adult, refusing military service in the occupied West Bank during the first intifada, an act that led to his imprisonment. Cassif holds a PhD in political science from the London School of Economics, with a research focus on Marxist approaches to nationalism.
