A mother's place is in the rebellion

This is a family friendly, peaceful and healing action open to mothers, grandmothers, carers who come in good will. Children and grandchildren are most welcome to attend.

Meet outside the National Gallery of Victoria on St Kilda Road. Look for the flags. Mothers* Rebellion is a peaceful gathering of concerned mothers and carers of the future. We will sit in a circle peacefully facing the passers-by, playing music, and helping ourselves and others to connect with our climate emotions.

Bring your own sign with your personal message or come a bit early and make one there, cardboard and text as supplied. We include signs with the names of our children or other messages.

We are mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, daughters and allies around the world. We know that those least responsible for the climate crises are also the most impacted.

We believe in the power of mothers and caregivers to demand climate justice. We ask politicians and policy makers to recognise a duty of care towards young people and future generations.

We will not look away.
We refuse to give up.
We will do everything we can.
We believe in the power of mothers and caregivers to demand climate justice.

Extinction Rebellion Victoria acknowledges that we rebel on First Nations lands. Country has never been ceded. We offer our respect to Elders, past and present. As we face the climate crisis, we honour the first custodians: activists for land, water, culture and life.
