Would you like a nuclear-free future?

You are invited by Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) to a potluck and presentation on Sunday, July 14, beginning at 5:30 pm in the Peace Action Conference Room, 909 12th St #118, Sacramento, CA 95814.

At 7pm the Ellen Thomas, Nuri Ronaghy, and Alan Shorb, the 2019 Nuclear-Free Future Tour, will share information and collect letters and petitions to take in August to international events in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

A new UN treaty is being ratified by many nations to make nuclear weapons illegal, congressional resolutions to divert military spending to the Green New Deal are being debated . Now is the time to ask your political candidates where they stand on getting rid of nuclear weapons (we will have suggested questions)

Ellen Thomas of WILPF’s DISARM / End Wars Issue Committee will describe the efforts of non-governmental organizations working towards the complete elimination of nuclear weapons. You will learn about the bill H.R.2419 and what you, personally, can do to help rid the world of nuclear weapons.

Nuri Ronaghy will discuss the current situation with Iran and what we can do about it.
